Learn How to Own Your Hilarious Scenes With Ninjago GIF Fails

I was thinking about writing a funny scene in a book, and I thought to me-self, “Mary. What kinds of situations could a character be in to make it funny?” And I found the answer in Ninjago. Their entire movie series is hilarious, and I realized that there are so many really creative ways to get funny scenes in your book!

Anyways, as I was looking through their hilarious GIFs, I realized that these were actually great ideas for situations that you could have in scenes for you book! So I’m going to tell you guys a situation, and then explain it with a GIF from Ninjago!

Hopefully you find this post hilarious, because I sure had a lot of fun!

*Also check out the AWESOME note at the end of this post!!

Please notify me if any of the GIFs aren’t working. Thanks!

When the characters are having a very important discussion, and then a different character comes in a does/says something that’s accidentally hilarious:

When the characters are having a serious discussion and a character on the side-lines gets hurt and no ones notices:

When the character tries to say something funny while there’s a serious discussion, but gets caught:

When the character tries to look cool when they’re talking to a different character, but fails miserably.

When the characters are talking and something completely unexpected happens:

When one character realizes they’re not alone, and the other character is doing something crazy:

When the character has their heart set on a small something (something not really relevant to the plot, but it makes you want the character to have it as well) and they find out that they’re not going to get it: (Obviously I’m amazing at describing…)

When a character nabs the other character’s stuff:

When one character tries to be creative but is clearly not:

(I couldn’t re-find the GIF for this because the original one wasn’t working. If you could help me find it, I’d absolutely LOVE that!)

      1. Okay, here we go!
So far there are currently like 9 seasons of Ninjago.
The confusing thing is they have two starting episodes, and THEN they have season 1 which starts out saying ‘Episode 1’. So the first two that you have to watch are like they introductory ones that don’t have any episode titles.
The first is called: “Way of the Ninja/The Golden Weapon” and the second is “King of Shadows/Weapons of Destiny” It was made in 2011, if that helps.
Umm…what else? I know that the DVD is called ‘LEGO Ninjago and Friends’.
I think some people call it ‘Pilot’. I’m not exactly sure why.
I thought I was going to come out and say all this stuff and I’d be like super helpful and ingenious, but honestly It’s 100% NOT, so if you need any more (better) help, just ask 😆

      2. No problem, I’m glad at least something in that made sense! 😆 Actually, if you want professional instructions, I suggest Abby at When Words Fly-she knows everything there is about Ninjago 😉
Here’s a link to her blog!

Also, just watch out because she has some spoiler-y GIFs included in some of her posts. Other than that, it’s awesome!
