Aiming For the Top! (Help me Make 2021 for Wild Writing Dreams Awesome!)

WELCOME TO 2021! All of last week, I got a LOT of posts and people proclaiming quite loudly, "2020! HORRIBLE YEAR! So happy it's over! WHOO!" Gunna be honest, I disliked this a lot. I'm not saying 2020 was sunshine and rainbow unicorns (which it totally should've been, just saying). There were a LOT of bad things that happened (*cough cough* looking at you, pandemic *cough cough*) and yes it actually did destroy a year of my childhood BUT. A lot of good things came from 2020.

I Want to Help You Become Better…But Can You Help Me First?

My goal for this blog is to help other writers like me persevere with their goals and become better, stronger, more amazing writers than ever before! I want to inspire people to keep doing what they love by urging them on with writing techniques, humor, and motivational support.

But how can I do that if I don't really know where to start?

I've been blogging for almost a year now, and I've loved all of it. But last week I had no ideas for posts, and even when I got lots of ideas I still felt no motivation to write anything.

So...I'm going to ask you guys for some help, instead of me helping you this time.

The War of the Writers: Conquering That Blank Page

The cruiser blinks.

Over and over again, just like your whirling thoughts.

*in italics* This first sentence must be perfect! It has to hook readers, draw them in, make them latch onto my story...I have to give it everything I got!!!

And yet the cruiser still blinks and your fingers curl in frustration as no inspiration comes.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say us writers have fought battles no non-writer could ever even being to know about.

In fact, this past week I've been struggling with a type of battle myself; trying to figure out what to tackle with my book first.

In fact, I was fighting it so hard that I didn't do any writing my first entire week of summer.

Last week's post got me thinking. First we must start writing (reference to tip #1 of that post) but where do we start, and how?

That's what we're going to be finding out today!
